It is our honour here at Midwest Dental to offer first-rate dental services to Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) cardholders.

Our dental team is always pleased to welcome veterans to our practice. If you are a DVA cardholder, you will be able to enjoy our wide-ranging oral care treatments without spending money out of your own pocket. We will only bill DVA directly for the cost.

Dental Treatments Accessible through DVA Health Card

DVA will carry the cost in the majority of dental services required to meet your necessities if you are a Gold Card holder. White Card holders are eligible for dental services under arrangements from DVA. Dental procedure can only be given in connection with the accepted disabilities of White Card members. Other treatments need approval from Department of Veteran’s Affairs first before commencing it.

About the Limitation of Dental Treatments to Receive

The limitation with dental treatments depends on your clinical requirements. Other services have a time limit such as periodic dental exams, which are controlled to one every 6 months. Moreover, time limitations can be exceeded particularly if your dental professional recommends; however, this still demands approval from DVA.

Additionally, an Annual Monetary Limit pertains to high-cost items like dental bridges and crowns. From 1 January 2015 to 30 June 2018, DVA will pay up to a total of $2,488 every year for certain restorative procedures. This limit is not applicable to all ex-prisoners of war including patients with an accepted dental impairment or malignant cancer affecting the teeth or jaw.

About the Replacement of Dentures

DVA will pay for replacements once you lose of break your dentures. On the other hand, replacement dentures can only be given every 6 years unless our dental office will notify DVA that replacements are required immediately. In addition, a replacement is not provided if the dentures are newly relined in the past 12 months.
