Types of Dentures
Full: Complete dentures can be either conventional or immediate. It will be fitted if your entire upper or lower teeth must be removed or you need to replace your old full denture. The denture is commonly fitted immediately once your teeth are taken out. They fit comfortably over your gums and jawbone. In some cases, though, gums may need to heal for many months before a denture can be attached.
Partial: Partial dentures lie on a metal framework that connects to your natural teeth. They are designed to fill in the openings left by one or more missing teeth. A partial denture can be either made of plastic or metal plate with numerous false teeth attached to it. With the use of metal clasps, it can generally clip onto your other natural teeth to hold it firmly in place inside your mouth. It can also easily be removed through unclipping.
